Constructing session pivot rails from the prior-day range
Pivot-rails are built from ratios of the previous day’s high, low, and close, then plotted across the current session so the map can be read on hourly bars as well as on the daily inputs that created it.

Build the rails from the prior session
Pivot levels are constructed from ratios of the previous day’s high, low, and close and treated as candidate support or resistance. Each resulting price is a pivot-rail: a constructed level taken from the prior session’s high, low, and close and treated as candidate support or resistance on the current session.
The recipe is a prior-session-ratio. The same fixed ratio is applied to the previous day’s high, low, and close so the same set of rails can be redrawn every new session from those three inputs alone.
Plot the session-overlay
Once calculated from the prior session, those levels are plotted across the current day’s price. The plot is a session-overlay: the daily-derived rails are drawn onto the current session’s bars so the map can be inspected on an hourly or similar scale.
The same construction can be inspected on a euro-dollar chart at 60-minute resolution. The rails still come from the completed prior session even when the visible bars are shorter.
Draw support-steps from the previous bar
Sample plotting logic draws multiple support rails from the previous bar’s calculated values rather than from the still-forming bar. A support-step is a below-market rail in the set. A later step is simply a further ratio of the same prior-session inputs.
Fibonacci-ratio levels are treated as an already available construction path, so custom work is reserved for the prior-session high-low-close method.
Keep an independent daily series
A display routine can bind the overlay to an independent-daily-series. That is a separate daily bar stream used to compute the rails even when the visible chart is not daily. The construction stays attached to the prior session’s completed high, low, and close rather than to the native timeframe of the chart being viewed.
