Treat the optimize view as an evaluation protocol
A prebuilt strategy can be opened in an optimize view, tested with exhaustive search or Monte Carlo, and compared with an equity curve that includes a buy-and-hold overlay. Community-tab strategies can be downloaded and then optimized as one testable procedure.
- A prebuilt strategy can be opened in an optimize view where each parameter exposes start, stop, and step values that the tester can edit.
- The platform offers two optimization methods: exhaustive search and Monte Carlo.
- A run produces standard performance measures, including an equity curve with a buy-and-hold overlay.
- Community-tab strategies can be downloaded into existing folders and then optimized as one testable procedure.
Open a strategy in the optimize view
A prebuilt strategy can be opened in an optimize view where each parameter exposes start, stop, and step values that the tester can edit.
After a strategy is built or selected, a run produces standard performance measures, including an equity curve with a buy-and-hold overlay.
Choose exhaustive search or Monte Carlo
The platform offers two optimization methods: exhaustive search and Monte Carlo.
Monte Carlo optimization is described as a random-number process that a dedicated simulation module supports.
Download a community strategy and test it as one procedure
Community-tab strategies can be downloaded into existing folders and then optimized as one testable procedure.
