China's First 100-GWh Energy Storage Base Begins Operations, Ships to Germany

A fully integrated 100-GWh energy storage base has started operations in Yichang, China, with its first 790-Ah large cells shipped to Germany.

The world's first 100-GWh full-production-chain energy storage base was officially placed into operation on Wednesday in Yichang, central China's Hubei Province. The base represents a major milestone in large-scale energy storage manufacturing.

According to reports, the first shipment of 790-Ah large energy storage cells has already been dispatched to Germany, signaling the start of international deliveries from the facility. The base is designed to cover the entire production chain for energy storage systems.

This development underscores China's growing role in the global energy storage market, particularly in supplying high-capacity cells for grid-scale applications.
