USD/CAD Rebounds Above 1.4000 as Traders Eye US, Canada Jobs Data

USD/CAD recovered from an intraday slip below the 1.4000 level on Thursday, with the US dollar snapping a two-day losing streak as markets positioned for Friday's employment reports from the US and Canada.

The pair briefly fell below the psychologically important 1.4000 support on Thursday before buyers stepped in and pushed it back above the level.

The US dollar strengthened against the Canadian dollar, breaking a two-day decline, as traders adjusted positions ahead of the dual employment releases. US and Canadian jobs data due on Friday are expected to offer fresh clues on the policy paths of the Federal Reserve and the Bank of Canada.

Market participants are closely watching the figures for signs of labor market resilience, which could influence near-term interest rate expectations and weigh on the loonie if US data beats.
