Malaysian Ringgit Faces Range-Bound Risks vs Dollar as BNM Holds at 2.75%
OCBC sees the Malaysian ringgit range-bound against the US dollar after Bank Negara Malaysia kept its overnight policy rate at 2.75% and delivered a slightly firmer tone.

Bank Negara Malaysia left its overnight policy rate unchanged at 2.75%, OCBC's Christopher Wong noted. The central bank struck a slightly firmer tone, with economic growth expected to remain resilient into 2027.
Against the US dollar, OCBC is monitoring key levels and sees range-bound risks for the ringgit.
The economist still projects a normalisation in the OPR to 3.00% in January.
