US Lifts Naval Blockade on Strait of Hormuz, CENCOM Says

US Central Command announced the end of the naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that US forces will no longer impede vessel transit to or from Iranian ports.

In a statement released on Wednesday, US Central Command (CENCOM) confirmed the lifting of the US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement read: "American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. All US military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased."

The blockade had been in place since earlier this year, disrupting maritime traffic and impacting global oil shipments. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for crude oil exports from the Middle East.

Traders are assessing the implications for oil supply and geopolitical risk. The move is expected to ease tensions in the region and may affect crude oil prices in the short term.
