US Dollar Index Dips Below 100 on Less Hawkish Fed
The US dollar index fell below the 100.00 level as the Fed held rates steady and offered a less hawkish stance, according to MUFG.
DXY
The US Dollar Index (DXY) retreated under the 100.00 mark after last week’s FOMC meeting. The Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged and Chair Kevin Warsh struck a less hawkish tone, weighing on the greenback.
Lee Hardman at MUFG highlighted the move, noting that the dollar index’s drop reflects disappointment among USD bulls who had priced in a more aggressive policy stance. The DXY last traded below 100 in mid-2025.
Markets now shift focus to upcoming US data for further direction, with the path of least resistance appearing lower for the dollar in the near term.
