US Army to Extend Contractor Deal for Bradley and M88 Parts
The US Army plans to bypass competitive bidding and extend its current contractor agreement to keep Bradley and M88 recovery vehicle work moving, including scarce parts and Ukrainian mechanic training.
The US Army is dealing with shortages across a range of components, including turret drive and transmission controls, targeting sensors, lighting systems, and specialty fasteners.
To keep the supply pipeline running, the Army intends to skip competitive bidding and extend the existing contractor's deal. The extension would cover continued work on Bradley fighting vehicles and M88 recovery vehicles, as well as sourcing hard-to-find parts.
The arrangement also includes training Ukrainian mechanics, according to the report.
