Treasury Secretary Bessent: Yen 'Substantially Undervalued'

U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said the Japanese yen has overshot its equilibrium price and is very undervalued, adding he is not worried about a stronger yen.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent stated in an interview with Fox Business that the Japanese yen has substantially overshot its equilibrium price and is very undervalued.

He added that he is not concerned about the yen strengthening against the dollar, noting the currency is very cheap while Japan’s economy is performing well.
