Sweden’s core inflation measure, CPIF excluding energy, printed at 0.6% in July, a hotter reading that supported the Krona. According to ING FX Strategist Francesco Pesole, the surprise in core prices helped the SEK edge higher against the euro.
Headline inflation, however, continued to slow, presenting a mixed picture for the Riksbank’s policy outlook. The modest boost to the Krona follows a period of weakness, with markets now weighing how the central bank will balance sticky core pressures against a softening economy.
