GBP/JPY advanced to near 212.50 on Wednesday, building on a recovery from the 209.55 level touched earlier in the week. The pair has now gained for two consecutive sessions.
Sterling found support after stronger-than-expected UK services PMI figures, which bolstered expectations that the Bank of England may maintain a relatively hawkish stance. The yen remained under pressure amid a cautious risk tone.
