PBOC Sets USD/CNY Reference Rate at 6.7917 for Tuesday

The People's Bank of China fixed the yuan's daily reference rate against the dollar at 6.7917 on Tuesday, slightly weaker than Monday's 6.7898.

USDCNY

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the USD/CNY central parity rate at 6.7917 for the trading session on Tuesday. This compares with Monday's fix of 6.7898 and a Reuters poll forecast of 6.7595.

The slightly higher fixing indicates a marginally weaker yuan against the dollar, in line with the PBOC's managed float framework. The reference rate restricts onshore spot trading to a 2% band above or below the daily fix.
