Jamie Dimon Warns US Dollar Could Lose Reserve Status Within 25 Years
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon cautioned that the dollar’s global reserve role depends on US economic, military and geopolitical strength, with its share of reserves already slipping from about 70% in 2000 to roughly 57% today.
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon warned that the US dollar could lose its reserve-currency status within 25 years if the United States loses economic and military strength.
He argued that the dollar’s global dominance depends on US economic power, national security and geopolitical influence. A weaker America could lead countries to seek alternatives.
The dollar still dominates global reserves, but its share has fallen from about 70% in 2000 to around 57% today, reflecting growing diversification.
Dimon’s message is clear: if the US wants to keep the dollar on top, it must maintain its economic, industrial and strategic edge.
