Fed Holds Key Rate at 3.5-3.75%, Notes Inflation Remains Above Target

The U.S. Federal Reserve left its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.5-3.75%, in line with market expectations. The regulator noted that inflation remains above its 2% target due to supply shocks.

The Federal Reserve opted to keep its benchmark interest rate steady at 3.5-3.75% during its latest meeting. The decision aligned with consensus expectations; market pricing had suggested only about a 38% chance of a 25-basis-point increase.

In its statement, the central bank highlighted that inflation remains elevated above the 2% goal, driven by supply-side shocks.

The unchanged rate stance reflects the Fed's cautious approach amid ongoing economic uncertainty.
