Euro Rangebound After Soft US Jobs Data

Weaker-than-expected US employment figures pushed the dollar index lower, keeping EUR/USD within a 1.15–1.16 range. USD/JPY has recovered and may test 159.

Friday’s dip in US nonfarm payrolls and lower overall employment data sent the Dollar Index lower. The greenback is now expected to trade between 100.30 and 99.30/99.00 in the near term.

This dollar weakness is keeping the euro in a tight band around 1.1500–1.1600, with no clear breakout yet.

Meanwhile, USD/JPY has staged a recovery and looks poised to challenge the 159 level in upcoming sessions.
