EUR/USD advances above 1.1500, 100-day SMA limits upside
The euro pushed above the 1.1500 handle on Monday as improved risk appetite supported the pair, but the 100-day moving average kept gains in check near 1.1535.
The euro rose against the dollar during early European trading on Monday, with EUR/USD trading near 1.1535, comfortably above the 1.1500 mark. A brighter risk mood helped lift the single currency.
However, the advance stalled just below the 100-day simple moving average, which acted as a stiff near-term resistance. The pair remained capped by this key technical level, and a convincing break above would be needed to unlock further gains.
Monday’s move was driven by an improvement in broader risk appetite, although the pair’s trajectory beyond the 100-day SMA will likely depend on incoming data and central bank signals.
