Erdogan Urges Trump to Keep Iran Diplomacy Alive, Turkey Ready to Help
Turkey's president told Donald Trump that diplomacy with Iran should continue and said Ankara is ready to contribute. Separately, Turkish and Iranian foreign ministers discussed opening the Strait of Hormuz and maintaining the US-Iran ceasefire.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Donald Trump that it is important to continue talks with Iran to make use of diplomacy, with Turkey ready to contribute, according to reports.
He also said Israel is attacking Palestinians in Gaza at a time when the second phase of the peace plan was supposed to take effect.
Separately, a Turkish diplomatic source said the Turkish foreign minister discussed efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz and continue the US-Iran ceasefire in a call with his Iranian counterpart.
