DXY rebounds past 99.80 after Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon

The US Dollar Index recovered on Monday, holding gains near 99.80 after two days of losses. The move followed reports of an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, boosting safe-haven demand for the greenback.

The US Dollar Index (DXY) found support and turned higher during European trading, bouncing off its recent two-day slide. The index was last seen hovering around the 99.80 level.

Geopolitical tensions escalated after an Israeli airstrike hit southern Lebanon, prompting a flight to safety and renewed bids for the US dollar. The greenback also benefited from a pullback in major crosses.

The DXY measures the dollar against a basket of six major currencies, including the euro, yen, and pound. Monday's recovery comes amid thin liquidity and cautious risk sentiment.
