Danish Inflation Eases to 1.7% in July as Tax Cuts Curb Price Growth
Denmark’s headline CPI rose 1.7% YoY in July, slightly lower than the previous month, while core inflation held steady, according to Nordea.
Denmark’s consumer price inflation edged lower in July, with the headline index rising 1.7% year-on-year compared to a higher print in June. Core inflation, which strips out volatile items like energy and food, remained unchanged, Nordea economist Jan Størup Nielsen noted.
The softer headline reading reflects, in part, the effect of recent tax cuts that have tempered price growth. This keeps Danish inflation well below the euro area average, providing a relative buffer for consumers.
The data supports a view of subdued domestic price pressures, though the full breakdown of contributors was not immediately available. The steady core rate suggests underlying inflation trends are stable.
