China Q2 GDP Grows 4.3% YoY, Misses 4.5% Forecast

China's economy expanded 4.3% year-on-year in Q2 2026, below the market consensus of 4.5% and slowing from 5.0% in Q1, according to official data.

China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported Wednesday. The figure missed the market consensus of 4.5% and marked a slowdown from the 5.0% expansion recorded in the first quarter.

The data suggests continued headwinds for the world's second-largest economy. The NBS release did not provide a breakdown of the components in the initial report.
