BHP calls copper its growth engine, sees demand above 50Mtpa by 2050

The miner projected that global copper demand alone will increase from about 34 million tonnes per annum today to more than 50 million tonnes per annum by 2050.
BHP also said it expects China to continue producing about one billion tonnes per annum of steel during this decade.
