Australian Dollar Climbs to Seven-Week High Above 0.7050

The Aussie dollar rose just under 0.2% to trade above 0.7050, its strongest level in seven weeks, clearing its 50-day EMA for the first time since mid-June.

AUDUSD

The Australian dollar advanced to a seven-week high on Wednesday, edging above the 0.7050 handle after a gain of slightly less than two-tenths of a percent. No obvious domestic catalyst drove the move, suggesting offshore factors or broader risk appetite supported the currency.

Price action was notable for breaking above the 50-day exponential moving average for the first time since mid-June, a technical signal that had capped upside attempts in recent weeks. The close above the EMA may encourage momentum buyers.

While the move lacked an Australian-specific trigger, the Aussie often benefits from improved global sentiment or commodity strength. Traders will watch whether the pair can hold above the technical level to extend gains.
