Asian Currencies Face Repricing Risk as Policymakers Push Back on Weakness

Asian currencies may encounter repricing risk as global policymakers increasingly resist competitive currency weakness, according to DBS economist Philip Wee.

Asian currencies could face repricing pressure as global policymakers signal greater resistance to competitive devaluation, DBS Group Research economist Philip Wee said. The shift in policy stance may lead to adjustments in currency valuations as authorities seek to prevent excessive weakness.
