U.S. Government Job Openings Hit Highest Since June 2025

U.S. government job openings rose for the fourth consecutive month in June, reaching 823,000—the highest since June 2025—as federal vacancies also climbed sharply.

Government job openings increased by 10,000 in June, taking the total to 823,000. This marks the fourth straight monthly rise and the highest level since June 2025. The cumulative gain over that period has reached 98,000.

Since November 2025, government vacancies have surged by 165,000. Federal job openings specifically jumped by 39,000 in June to 139,000, the most since October 2024. That monthly increase was the largest since May 2024.

The data points to a sustained upswing in government hiring across both federal and broader public sector roles.
