Building Fibonacci and Lucas time-cycle markers
A Fibonacci time cycle flags bars that sit a Fibonacci or Lucas count away from a locked start bar. After that origin is set, later matches are bar-count arithmetic, and stacked insertions can be compared for confluence across start bars and time frames.
- After a start bar is fixed, a counter advances and a bar is flagged only when that count equals a listed Fibonacci or Lucas number.
- Multiple insertions with different colors, plot styles, and offsets can be stacked so overlapping markers show confluence across start bars.
- The same indicator can be placed on a five-minute chart and a 15-minute chart so one start-bar construction is read across two time frames.
- Once the start bar is set, later matches are bar-count arithmetic, and only how the start bar is specified changes from intraday through longer frames.
What the study marks
A Fibonacci time cycle is a bar-count sequence from a chosen start bar that marks later bars at Fibonacci or Lucas distances as candidate reaction times.
After the start bar is fixed, a counter advances and a bar is flagged only when that counter equals a listed Fibonacci or Lucas number.
How the start bar is set
A start bar can be set by clicking the chart or by entering date and time. Click-to-start may first count from the first visible bar until a new start is assigned.
Swing highs and lows can serve as start bars, and later significant bars may fall on or within one bar of the resulting counts.
If the start bar is not defined by a hard rule, automatic placement can still leave the origin subjective. One implementation searches a recent 10 percent peak or trough.
Stacked insertions and time frames
The study can be applied once or several times on any bar size, with each instance set to Fibonacci or Lucas. Multiple insertions with different colors, plot styles, and offsets can be stacked so overlapping markers show confluence across start bars.
Confluence means two or more independently started counts landing on the same bar or one bar apart. Paintbar-showme overlays color or flag sequence-match bars so those insertions can be compared visually.
The same indicator can be placed on a five-minute chart and a 15-minute chart so one start-bar construction is read across two time frames. That time-frame stack lets cycle hits be read together.
Construction inputs and later arithmetic
Series type, color, and start date are construction inputs, and the same formula can feed a watch-list sort as well as a chart plot.
Once the start bar is set, later matches are simple bar-count arithmetic, and the same construction works from intraday through longer frames. Only how the start bar is specified changes.
