West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil tumbled sharply on Monday, shedding over 7% to trade around $82.60 per barrel. The decline comes amid reports that the United States and Iran have paused mutual strikes, easing fears of immediate supply disruptions.

The drop reverses some of the geopolitical risk premium that had built up in recent weeks. Traders now await further clarity on whether the de-escalation holds and how it may affect global supply dynamics.
