Weekend Markets: Most Indices Edge Lower, Oil Rises 3.3%
European and US equity markets posted slight declines in weekend trading, while crude oil surged over 3%.

Major European and US indices closed the weekend session with modest losses. The DAX fell 0.38%, the Dow slipped 0.26%, and the Nasdaq declined 0.28%. The FTSE 100 and Hang Seng also eased, each down about 0.2%.
In foreign exchange, EURUSD edged 0.11% lower. Precious metals were softer, with gold losing 0.32% and silver dropping 0.19%. Crude oil bucked the trend, jumping 3.33%.
