US Stocks Open Lower; Nasdaq Drops 1.15%

US equity benchmarks started the session in negative territory, with the Nasdaq Composite under the most pressure. The index fell 306.59 points, or 1.15%, to 26,338.32 shortly after the open.
The S&P 500 declined 43.14 points, or 0.56%, to 7,701.92, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 181.05 points, or 0.34%, to 53,278.73.
The moves reflect broad early weakness in US stocks, with technology-heavy names leading the decline.
