US Stocks Mixed at Close: Nasdaq Dips, Dow Surges Over 550 Points
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied more than 550 points while the Nasdaq Composite edged lower. The S&P 500 posted a modest gain.

Major US equity indexes closed mixed on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 551.84 points, or 1.06%, to end at 52,761.92.
The S&P 500 added 18.42 points, or 0.25%, to settle at 7,431.60. The Nasdaq Composite bucked the trend, slipping 36.43 points, or 0.15%, to 24,895.65.
The divergence highlighted a rotation into blue-chip and value names while technology shares lagged.
