US Federal Debt Hits Record $39.4 Trillion

Total US federal debt has reached a record $39.4 trillion, rising $3.2 trillion over the past 12 months. Since 2020, debt has surged by $16.3 trillion.

The total US federal debt has climbed to a new all-time high of $39.4 trillion, according to data highlighted by The Kobeissi Letter. The debt increased by $3.2 trillion over the last 12 months.

Since 2020, the federal debt has risen by a massive $16.3 trillion, representing an average annual increase of $2.5 trillion — or about $209 billion per month. If this pace continues, total US debt could reach $50.0 trillion before 2030.

No signs of slowing down: the report cautions that the US debt crisis persists with no end in sight.
