US Dollar Index Recovers After Selloff as Middle East Tensions Rise

The U.S. Dollar Index edged higher in Asian trading on Thursday, recovering from the previous day's sharp decline as escalating Middle East conflict boosted demand for the greenback.

The US Dollar Index (DXY) traded 0.12% higher in the Asian session on Thursday, clawing back some ground after a steep drop the day before.

The greenback found support as a further escalation of the war in the Middle East drove safe-haven flows. The index, which measures the dollar against a basket of six major currencies, had suffered a juggernaut fall on Wednesday.

At press time, the DXY was extending its modest recovery.
