Trump Claims Xi and Putin Pledged Not to Sell Weapons to Iran
Former President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin each told him they would not sell weapons to Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump said that during his recent meeting in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping assured him that China—including Chinese companies—would not give or sell weapons to Iran. Trump added that he takes Xi at his word, pointing to their relationship and favors he claims to have done for China.
Trump also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin told him Russia would not sell weapons to Iran, despite the ongoing war in Ukraine. Trump noted that he does not sell weapons to Ukraine but does sell to NATO countries, which pay full price. He stated that both China and Russia are, in his opinion, not participating in arming Iran, warning that doing so would be against their interests.
The post did not provide further details on when these conversations took place or any verification of the claims.
