Rabobank: EUR/USD Stuck in Choppy Range as ECB Hawkishness Fails to Lift Euro

Rabobank’s Jane Foley says EUR/USD remains wary and rangebound, with the euro failing to benefit from a hawkish ECB tilt while the dollar draws safe-haven and Fed support.

EURUSD

Rabobank’s senior FX strategist Jane Foley noted that the euro has struggled to find support even as the European Central Bank struck a hawkish tone at its July meeting. The single currency remains wary, with EUR/USD stuck in a choppy, sideways trading pattern.

Meanwhile, the US dollar continues to draw bids from safe-haven flows and expectations around the Federal Reserve’s policy path. The combination leaves the pair lacking clear direction for now.
