PBOC Sets USD/CNY Reference Rate at 6.8047

The People's Bank of China set the USD/CNY central parity at 6.8047 for Friday's trading session, down from Thursday's fix of 6.8088 and above the Reuters estimate of 6.7808.

USDCNY

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.8047 for the trading session on Friday, compared with the previous day's fix of 6.8088. The new rate is slightly higher than the Reuters market estimate of 6.7808.

The central parity rate serves as a daily trading band for the onshore yuan, allowing the currency to move up to 2% above or below the fix. The PBOC's move reflects its continued management of the yuan's value amid global currency fluctuations.
