PBOC sets USD/CNY fix at 6.7898, marginally weaker

The People's Bank of China fixed the USD/CNY daily reference rate at 6.7898 on Monday, a slight depreciation from Friday's fix of 6.7894.

USDCNY

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the onshore yuan's daily fixing against the dollar at 6.7898 for the upcoming session, compared with the previous fix of 6.7894. The 4-pip move signals a marginal weakening of the yuan.

The central parity rate serves as a key reference, with spot trading allowed to fluctuate within a 2% band on either side. The tiny adjustment suggests the authority is maintaining a steady hand amid stable market conditions.
