Over 4 Million Scam Smart Contracts Flagged in Last 30 Days, Web3 Antivirus Reports

Web3 Antivirus has analyzed 100.8 million smart contracts, flagging 4.24 million as scams. Of those, 3.41 million were detected in the past 30 days, highlighting a surge in malicious contract activity.

A wave of scam smart contracts has been detected across blockchain networks. According to data from the Web3 Antivirus platform, a total of 100.8 million contracts have been scanned, with 4.24 million flagged as malicious. Notably, 3.41 million of these scam contracts — roughly 80% of the total — were found in the last 30 days alone.

These malicious contracts often appear legitimate until a user approves a transaction, signs a message, or connects their wallet. The platform warns that such contracts can drain funds or compromise wallets without obvious red flags.

The data suggests an acceleration in the deployment of scam contracts. Users are advised to check wallet risk, contract activity, approval history, toxic scores, and suspicious addresses before interacting with unknown contracts.
