NZD/USD Dips Despite Hotter NZ Inflation as USD Strength Prevails

NZD/USD traded around 0.5835 on Tuesday, down 0.07% on the day, as support from stronger-than-expected New Zealand inflation was outweighed by a firmer US Dollar.

NZDUSD

The New Zealand Dollar edged lower against the US Dollar on Tuesday, with NZD/USD trading near 0.5835, down 0.07% on the day. The decline came despite hotter-than-expected inflation data from New Zealand, which typically would support the Kiwi.

Traders pointed to a broadly stronger US Dollar as the dominant factor, overriding any potential boost from the inflation surprise. The market continues to focus on the relative strength of the US economy and the Federal Reserve's policy stance.
