Nvidia to Back OpenAI Ohio Data Center With $105B Credit Support
Nvidia will provide credit support capped at $105 billion for a planned OpenAI data center in Ohio and invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy, according to the Financial Times.
Nvidia has agreed to provide a credit backstop for the land, power and shell of a planned OpenAI data center in Pike County, Ohio, with the support capped at $105 billion, the Financial Times reported.
The site is being developed alongside energy companies led by SoftBank. Nvidia will separately invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy, which was founded as part of SoftBank Group in 2019.
OpenAI intends to lease as much as 8 gigawatts of AI computing capacity at the facility, which is not expected to be completed until 2032. If finalized on the described terms, the project would rank among the largest AI infrastructure deals to date.
