Nvidia, Naver, Brookfield Plan $10B AI Data Center Expansion in South Korea

Nvidia, Naver and Brookfield will invest up to $10 billion to expand their South Korean AI data center from 55 MW to 200 MW by 2028, targeting gigawatt-scale capacity. President Lee also announced $950 billion in AI initiatives.

Nvidia, Naver, and Brookfield announced a significant expansion of their AI infrastructure in South Korea. The partners plan to increase the capacity of the AI Factory at the GAK Sejong data center from the current 55 MW to 200 MW by 2028. In the longer term, they aim to deploy gigawatt-scale infrastructure to train and run new AI models. The project includes strategic investments of up to $10 billion.

Separately, at the AI Summit in San Francisco, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung unveiled new AI initiatives totaling $950 billion. These involve Samsung Electronics, SK Group, and American technology companies, signaling a massive national push into artificial intelligence.
