GBP/USD Near-term Bias Remains Bearish Ahead of Fed and BoE Decisions

GBP/USD edges up to near 1.3300 in European trade as the US dollar softens before the Federal Reserve’s policy announcement. The pair’s near-term outlook remains bearish with both the Fed and Bank of England meetings in focus.

The British pound is marginally higher against the US dollar on Wednesday, trading around 1.3300 during the European session. The modest lift comes as the greenback ticks lower ahead of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy announcement at 18:00.

Market participants are also eyeing the upcoming Bank of England decision later in the week. This dual central-bank event risk is keeping the near-term bias for GBP/USD tilted to the downside.
