EUR/USD Drops Below 1.1500 as Dollar Recovers

The euro weakened against the US dollar on Friday, falling back below the 1.1500 handle as short-covering in the greenback following a sharp sell-off drove the pair lower.

EURUSD

The euro retreated against the dollar on Friday, slipping below the 1.1500 threshold as the greenback staged a recovery. The pair was last seen near 1.1488, down from a six-week peak of 1.1537 reached earlier.

The move reflected short-covering in the US currency following a steep sell-off the previous day, which had propelled the euro to its strongest level in weeks. The dollar’s bounce underscores the volatile trading environment.
