Dollar Struggles as Warsh Rhetoric Fails to Convince, Says BBH

The US dollar is struggling to recover after the Fed’s hawkish hold, as Chair Kevin Warsh’s tough inflation talk failed to bolster policy credibility, according to BBH’s Elias Haddad.

The US dollar (USD) is having difficulty recovering following the Federal Reserve’s decision to keep rates on hold in a hawkish manner, notes Elias Haddad of Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH).

According to Haddad, Chair Kevin Warsh’s tough rhetoric on inflation failed to convince market participants, undermining the central bank’s policy credibility. This has dampened the dollar’s ability to gain traction despite the Fed’s hawkish stance.

The observation highlights a disconnect between the Fed’s messaging and market conviction, leaving the greenback under pressure.
