Dollar consolidates after Fed inflation caution and Japan MOF moves

The U.S. dollar is stabilizing after coming under pressure from the Federal Reserve's reluctance to meet its inflation target and actions by Japan's Ministry of Finance.

The U.S. dollar has entered a consolidation phase after a bout of weakness triggered by the Federal Reserve’s cautious stance on inflation and activity from Japan’s Ministry of Finance. The Fed’s failure to meet its inflation goal for more than five years, combined with its reluctance to adjust policy, had weighed on the greenback.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Finance’s engagement added to the dollar’s volatility, though specific measures were not detailed. The currency is now settling as markets assess the implications of both developments.

Traders are watching for further signals from either side that could break the current equilibrium.
