CoinDCX Conducts Crypto Investigation Training for Maharashtra Police

India's largest crypto exchange CoinDCX held a training program for police officers in the Mira-Bhayander and Vasai-Virar commissionerates, focusing on crypto-enabled financial crime investigation techniques.
CoinDCX, India’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has completed another specialized training session for law enforcement, this time for the Commissionerate of Police in the Mira-Bhayander and Vasai-Virar regions of Mumbai. The program, announced on May 18, 2026, is part of the exchange’s ongoing partnership with Indian Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) aimed at improving understanding of virtual digital assets (VDAs) and bolstering investigative capabilities.
The training focused on the mechanics of crypto-enabled financial crimes and modern cyber-fraud patterns. Officers were trained on VDA investigative typologies — how digital assets move across blockchains — as well as practical response mechanisms to speed up investigations in a tech-driven financial landscape. The session also covered frameworks for streamlining information exchange between crypto exchanges and investigators.
Broader Mission for Financial Integrity
CoinDCX emphasized that the engagement is not an isolated event but part of a wider commitment to safeguarding India’s financial ecosystem. The exchange has been conducting similar capacity-building initiatives across the country to bridge the knowledge gap around the fast-evolving VDA space.
“Law Enforcement Agencies are at the forefront of protecting citizens and combating emerging threats in the digital financial ecosystem,” said Sumit Gupta, Co-founder of CoinDCX. “It was a privilege to engage with the dedicated team at the Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate. As the ecosystem evolves, continuous collaboration and knowledge exchange between industry and enforcement agencies becomes increasingly vital.”
The training was led by CoinDCX’s investigative, compliance, and legal experts. They shared operational insights and real-world investigative perspectives, providing officers with a practical roadmap for navigating the rapidly changing cybercrime landscape.
CoinDCX has stated it remains committed to being a proactive partner for LEAs nationwide through ongoing education, ecosystem awareness programs, and technical support. The exchange advocates for a collaborative approach to tackling digital financial crime, ensuring that as technology advances, the capabilities of those protecting the public advance alongside it.
