China June CPI Inflation Slows to 1.0% YoY, Below Forecast

China's annual consumer inflation eased more than expected in June, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 1.0% from a year earlier, below the market consensus of 1.1% and slowing from the 1.2% rise recorded in May.

The softer reading suggests subdued domestic demand pressures in the world's second-largest economy, though the data alone does not alter the monetary policy outlook significantly.
