CFI Expands into Colombia

CFI Financial Group, the Dubai-based online trading broker, has expanded into Colombia, opening a representative office in Bogotá after receiving authorization from the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC). The move is part of the group’s broader strategy to grow its presence in Latin America.

The company has appointed Simon Knudson as Country Manager for CFI Colombia S.A.S. Knudson brings experience in financial markets and a knowledge of the local landscape, and will be responsible for building the company’s brand and client base in the country.

“Colombia is an important market for the Group,” said Ziad Melhem, CEO of CFI Financial Group. “We continue to see strong momentum across Latin America, driven by increasing interest in trading, improving digital infrastructure, and a new generation of traders and investors entering the market.”

Simon Knudson added: “There is a clear shift towards more digitally enabled trading, and clients are looking for platforms that are both accessible and dependable. Our focus will be on delivering a smooth, efficient experience, supported by strong technology and a local team that understands the market.”

CFI says its Colombian office will offer clients access to a range of financial instruments backed by the group’s trading technology, execution speeds, and client experience tools. The launch follows other recent expansions across international markets as CFI continues to scale globally while maintaining local relevance.

The group, founded in 1998, is headquartered in Dubai and operates from offices in London, Abu Dhabi, Cape Town, Baku, Beirut, Amman, Cairo, and now Bogotá. CFI provides trading in equities, currencies, commodities, and other instruments, and has brand partnerships with AC Milan, FIBA WASL, and the MI Cape Town cricket team, among others.
