CEE FX: Rate Repricing Opens Path for Gains – ING

CEE rate curves have seen a sharp repricing, with more tightening expected in the Czech Republic and Poland and further easing elsewhere, according to ING. The analyst sees room for currency gains as rates normalize.

ING’s Frantisek Taborsky notes that Central and Eastern European rate curves have repriced sharply, with markets now pricing in additional tightening in the Czech Republic and Poland and further easing in other parts of the region.

The normalisation of rate expectations, in his view, leaves room for CEE currencies to appreciate.
