Australian Dollar Rallies to Over One-Week High vs NZD on Upbeat Jobs Data

The AUD/NZD cross climbed to a one-and-a-half-week high near 1.2060-1.2065 after stronger-than-expected Australian employment figures boosted the Aussie.

AUDNZD

The Australian Dollar strengthened against its New Zealand counterpart during the Asian session, pushing the AUD/NZD cross to a one-and-a-half-week high in the 1.2060–1.2065 region.

The move was triggered by the release of the monthly Australian jobs report, which came in better than market expectations. Strong employment data typically supports the currency by reinforcing expectations of tight labor market conditions.

Traders are now watching for further cues from the Reserve Bank of Australia’s policy outlook, as well as any data from New Zealand that could shift the relative strength between the two currencies.
