AUD/USD Steady Near 0.7030 Despite Weak Chinese Data, Reduced Rate Hike Bets

AUD/USD traded around 0.7030 on Friday, little changed as weak Chinese economic data and diminishing expectations for RBA rate hikes were absorbed by the currency.

AUDUSD

AUD/USD changed hands near 0.7030 on Friday, nearly flat for the day, as traders weighed downbeat Chinese economic releases against a pullback in RBA tightening bets. The currency pair’s steadiness came on the heels of a strong Thursday session.

Weak data from China, a key trading partner, typically weighs on the Australian dollar, but fading expectations for further rate hikes from the Reserve Bank of Australia appeared to provide offsetting support.

Despite the mixed signals, the Aussie managed to hold its ground, suggesting near-term resilience.
