The Australian dollar slipped against the US dollar on Monday, reversing gains from the previous two sessions. AUD/USD traded around 0.6930 during Asian hours.
The move lower came after the release of the TD Securities-Melbourne Institute Inflation Gauge for February. The data showed a month-over-month decline of 0.4%, versus the consensus forecast of a 0.3% drop. The weaker-than-expected reading weighed on the Aussie.
Traders now look ahead to further Australian economic data and broader risk sentiment for direction.
